In collaboration with The Mayor Gallery (London), M77 Gallery debuted ArtBasel, in Basel, in the Unlimited sector with a surprising and monumental installation by the Paris-based conceptual artist Braco Dimitrijević (Sarajevo, 1948), entitled "Sailing to Post History".
Dimitrijević’s installation originates from a critical standpoint with regards to History. The artist developed the concept of ‘Post History’ in his treatise Tractatus Post Historicus, first published in 1976. The artist’s statement ‘Louvre is my studio, street is my museum’ fully expresses the dialectical and transgressive nature of his oeuvre.
